The Little Dipper — Big Bird
Same quick dip, sized for the bigger rides.
Laurel is as far west as we run on a normal week, deep in Sussex County farm country along the Broad Creek, and it has almost nothing in common with the beach towns an hour east.
About 40 minutes west of Millsboro on Route 24 and Route 13. Furthest west we run on a regular schedule, so booking ahead helps.
There is no salt air to speak of out here. What Laurel vehicles actually deal with is agricultural: field dust and chaff at harvest, mud tracked in from farm lanes, and Route 13 truck grime from a road that carries a lot more commercial traffic than tourists. Broad Creek still brings a smaller crowd of johnboats and pontoons for anyone with creek frontage, mild tannin staining rather than salt. Because it is a real drive from our base in Millsboro, we bundle Laurel with Seaford and Bridgeville on the same day whenever we can, which is the best way to get a good slot out here.
